Please note:
Beginning September 2008 there will be TWO digital competition categories,
"Traditional" and "New Dimensions". Please note carefully what the differences
are, and plan accordingly. You may enter up to three images in EACH category.
"Traditional"
A traditional category of images that begin as photos and may include
such enhancements (such as Levels, Curves, and the like) for the purpose of correction
of color, tone, sharpness, and contrast.
"New Dimensions "
A category of images, AS PRESENTED, that look as if they could not
have been taken with a camera alone. For example but not limited to these examples:
Images that are surrealistic, unreal, non-representational, abstract or fantasy, including
images that have been changed by posterization, special effects filters, sketching,
painterly, pen and ink, or in any other way. All images in this category must begin
as photographs.
Please note:
An update to the "programs" page has been added as of 8/22/08. This update reflects
the change of a program to be conducted by Ford and Peter to that of a photography
display by Michael Pressman, a long-time journalist for ABC and NBC news.
Please note:
The digital guidelines page has been updated with new submission and Photoshop procedures.
Also, the "digital" page which informs us of submission dates has been updated to reflect
new submission dates. These dates reflect the information you will see on the "guidelines"
page (the Wednesday prior to each competition at midnight).
