What is this?
There’s no reason to fear the dark—especially when you can illuminate it! Light painting is one of the more mysterious realms of night photography, but it also packs a lot of potential punch in terms of creative opportunity. In night photography you use light painting not to simply brighten objects in your scene; rather, you use it to sculpt a composition in a way that can’t be done in daylight, to “carve” compositional elements out of the darkness.
